News Channels Just Can’t Hold It In
MSNBC just called Pennsylvania for Obama with 0% reporting. They never learn, do they? Every election, you hear about how they’re going to “play it safe” this time around, and every election, they throw out wild predictions long before all the polls have closed.
MSNBC is nearly unwatchable. There’s so much shit going on on that screen, I have no idea where to focus my eyeballs. David Gregory is wearing one of those chunky pinstriped, wide-shouldered suits that all the newscasters are wearing lately. I hate those suits. They might look nice on a guy holding a tommy gun, but they just don’t work on TV.
This just in: jeffreydinsmore.com exit polls predict that ALAN KEYES and WILEY S. DRAKE SR. are pulling ahead in all the swing states! We might have ourselves a three-way contest here, folks!

I don’t get it. How can they possibly call a state for ANYONE with 0% reporting? Does no one at the networks sense incongruity here? In Louisville, Kentucky (and the benighted Kentucky was the first state called for McCain, damn it), John Yarmuth has defeated Anne Northup, an avowed Bushie, by a comfortable margin. My district is the only sane one in the state. I take no credit…

When they call it with 0% reporting (nowadays, since the Florida shocker), that means their exit polls called it comfortably beyond the margin of error of those exit polls. The definition of “comfortably” differs from network to network, but nobody is looking to repeat 2000. I wouldn’t worry too much that any of these get called back.
But still go vote in the next half hour if your polls are open! Down with 8!!!!
