Impeach Bush Ornament
So someone submitted a Christmas tree ornament to the White House that had an “impeach Bush” theme, and the White House accepted it. This is somewhat amusing in a human interest story kinda way, but I wouldn’t comment on the story if that’s all there was to it. What struck me about the article was this amazing quote about the incident from Laura Bush’s press secretary:
“It really is too bad. I haven’t seen the ornament, but I would hope that no one would take this as an opportunity to be divisive and partisan. There is a time and place for everything, and I don’t think this is either.“
According to Laura’s press secretary, this is neither the time nor the place for everything. Everything is for a different time and place, but not now, and not here. This strikes me as deeply profound, somehow.

First of all, Laura Bush has a press secretary?
Second of all, if you are in such a position, why would you comment on something THAT YOU HAVE NOT SEEN?
Third of all, what precisely is it that that “really is too bad”? The fact that someone sent it? That the White House accepted it? That you have no idea what you are talking about?

I, too, have been looking around your site. Layout looks like my grandma’s quilt. Content is generally decent, though sparse of late.
Do you have any interest in publicizing my blog and its unique perspective on the irrelevance of question marks in modern grammar.

The only thing I have an interest in doing for you is letting you watch me play Little Big World on your fat new TV. When are you gonna hook a brother up?
